About MeMs. Martínez-González was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She moved to Chicago to attend The University of Chicago, where she obtained a B.A. in History. After working for a couple of years, she decided education was her calling and obtained her M.S. in Elementary Education from Northwestern University. She began her time at CPS working for Network 1. Afterwards, she taught 5th and 6th grade at Disney II Magnet Elementary School. She joined the 5th grade team at Ogden International School of Chicago in 2016. She is very excited to begin her second year at Ogden. She looks forward to meeting her new students and their parents.
When Ms. Martínez is not in the classroom or working on lesson plans, you may find her reading, working out, watching sports, cooking, traveling, playing with her dog (she got her 3 days before the school year started), and spending time with loved ones. She also spends a significant amount of time during the winter pondering why she left a tropical island for Midwest winters and suffering through yet another disappointing season of her beloved Chicago Bulls. |
